My love for Sakara runs deep. I’ve written about my experience with Sakara and the Sakara Level II Detox previously. But while I absolutely love their signature meal delivery program and the Level II: Detox when you really feel like you need deep detoxification, I also realize Sakara isn’t necessarily affordable for everyone. That’s why I was so excited when Sakara introduced an all-new, more affordable program called The 10 Day Reset. At $195 it’s a considerably lower price point than the other Sakara plans. The program actually comes to $156 with my discount code: GLOWSAKARA. Unlike the traditional Sakara Life programs that come with three meals a day, the 10-Day Reset can be incorporated into your daily life and in my opinion has the added benefit of teaching you how to live the Sakara way.
What Your Get
The box came so beautifully presented I felt like it was Christmas Morning. In addition to 20 exclusive plant-based, gluten- and dairy-free recipe ideas that will have you eating right in no time, the kit comes with everything you need: the 10 Day Reset Guide and Recipe Book, water concentrates, teas, supplements and bars that are meant to reduce inflammation and cleanse the body from the inside out. They even include their proprietary probiotic, the best on the market. The probiotic is a complete probiotic with 11 diverse strains and prebiotic fiber blend to enhance efficacy. It also has the added benefit of candida-cleansing systemic enzymes and digestive enzymes to reduce bloat. The box is basically the “Sakara essentials kit” of their best pantry products and recipes for cooking your own organic, all-plant dishes.
The best thing about the program is that unlike meal delivery services, nothing is perishable, so you can start when you feel like it.
Unlike other detox programs, the 10-Day Reset teaches a nutritional philosophy, as opposed to a “quick fix diet”, giving you the recipes and tools you need for a sustainable lifestyle switch. As a bonus, it’s actually encouraged to pause and give yourself a little break on the weekend. “As with our Organic Meal Delivery, we leave our weekends open to indulge, live life, and listen to our cravings. The intention behind the 10 Day Reset is to create a lifestyle shift and longer-term change, not just a quick fix or crash diet,” says Whitney and Danielle, Sakara founders.
The box contains the following:
- 10-Day Reset Recipes: over 20 exclusive, easy-to-make recipes nutritionally designed to help you build your best body!

10 Day Reset Rules
Similar to other Sakara meals and programs, the 10 Day Reset encourages clients to load up on organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, leafy greens, fresh high-quality cold-pressed fats, natural probiotics (think fermented foods as in kimchi and sauerkraut), and nutrient-dense superfoods (a la hemp seeds, chia seeds, turmeric, and spirulina). You are advised to avoid meat, dairy, alcohol, caffeine, gluten, hydrogenated/ trans-fats, refined sugars (like high-fructose corn syrup) and artificial flavors (like aspartame and sucralose) and GMOs (like corn, soy, and wheat). Because I was used to being on Sakara’s signature meal delivery program I felt very comfortable with this as I already eat this way and eat mostly plant-based. I actually would encourage most people to try the signature meal delivery program first, if it is feasible before this do it yourself program. Mostly because it gets you used to this way of eating if it is new to you. If you already eat clean you may want to jump right in! After all, the reward seemed well worth the effort.
Sakara’s reset promised that in 10 days, I would experience the following:
- Clear skin
- Healed gut
- Boosted energy
- Shed excess weight
- Restored digestive harmony
Preparation: The Grocery List
The most intimidating part was the prep, the groceries list was pretty lengthy and I had to make some extra space in my fridge to account for all the fresh ingredients. You buy groceries for your smoothies, lunches, and dinners; everything else is included.
Simple, Easy to Follow Recipes
The booklet is filled with 20 nutritious (and yummy) recipes. In my opinion, the program was easy-to-follow. You can also tell the recipes were well tested. They were very well written and each came out as promised. I honestly feel anyone, even those with little cooking experience, could cook the meals. The cooking time was long on some meals. But I was able to pretty earmark those meals with little to no prep time to make sure that I could always be prepared and not cheat. I also liked that the program encouraged flexibility, they actually encourage you to be creative, within the parameters outlined above and in the Sakara 9 Pillars of Nutrition—which include integrating good fats, eating your water, and listening to your body.
A Day on the Plan
Wake Up: You start each day with a glass of Beauty Water Concentrate and one Daily Probiotic Blend. The Beauty Water is made up of 72 “deeply hydrating trace minerals,” which supports your metabolism, digestive functions, and regularity. It also hydrates you on a cellular level, and its rose extract helps calm inflammation and reduce bloat. I absolutely love the Sakara Beauty Water and use it daily. The probiotic has 11 strains of bacteria and digestive and systemic enzymes. The probiotic helps with digestion, hormone balance, clear skin, and energy.
Breakfast: Breakfast always consists of a Life Source Smoothie. I love starting the day with a smoothie and this was probably my favorite part of the plan. The ritual of a smoothie each day seemed to really level set and ground me. The Sakara Life Source powder included in the kit is truly amazing. It contains 12 grams of clean plant protein, alkalizing greens, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. According to Sakara Life, with a serving of greens to detoxify and digestive enzymes to beat bloat, this powder is clinically proven to enhance skin texture and appearance in two weeks with daily use. Pretty amazing! You can then add half of a frozen banana, a handful of spinach, healthy fat like nut butter, seeds, or coconut oil, and some ice cubes. You also can add some raw honey or maple syrup if you like it sweet. And to avoid growing bored of the same smoothie every day, the recipe book offers suggestions for a minty, tropical, or chai take. Best of all, the smoothie keeps you full until lunch.
Mid-Morning: It is encouraged that you have one cup of Detox Tea to help curb your craving for that morning cup of coffee. This organic, caffeine-free herbal tea is made with red rooibos, lemongrass, and rose to help relieve bloat and inflammation. I love that the detox tea tastes slightly sweet and to me, it has a slightly viscous consistency, thicker than most teas you steep, which is quite satisfying.
Lunch: Lunch and dinner you cook on your own, following the recipe book. Sakara actually encourages you to
My favorite lunch recipes are the Lemon and Kale Detox Ceasar and the Zucchini Linguini With Walnut Oil
It’s not as hard as it seems
Making lunches and dinners every day can seem overwhelming and time-consuming but I have to say I loved the ritual of it. I found it to be deeply relaxing and satisfying to know I was making food to nourish myself. Also, a tip: To save money and time, repeat your favorite recipes or even make batches of them in meal prep. This way you don’t have to drive yourself crazy making new recipes for every lunch and dinner.
Late Afternoon: I like the combo of a Detox Tea and Detox or Energy Bar. It was a great afternoon pick-me-up. This combo was perfect to tide me over until dinner.
Dinner: Dinner follows the same pattern as lunch. My absolute favorites were the Sakara Classic Veggie Burger with Avocado Smash (pictured). This baked burger is extremely satisfying and filling. The avocado mash topping, a blend of avocado, nutritional yeast, chia seeds, lemon juice, EVO, and salt has a cheesy, savory flavor that is beyond delicious.
Bedtime: The evening ends with Detox Water Concentrate and one Capsule of Daily Probiotic Blend. The Detox Water concentrate has 72 deeply hydrating trace minerals with chlorophyll and magnesium. It works so well because this blend helps with digestion as it pulls heavy metals from the body, removes toxins, and releases bloat, which you definitely feel.
The Results
I found the 10 Day Reset to be much easier to do and maintain than the Level II Detox. I didn’t experience any detox symptoms like headaches or bedridden days. But I can say I was amazed
Easy to Replicate
What I love about this program is that once you have the kit, and recipe book, it’s easy to replicate the 10 day program. I also really enjoy the habit of a morning smoothie and the Life Source Super Powder is something I will keep in my routine moving forward. I love that it is an all-in-one daily nutrition supplement and that it includes plant-based collagen, 12g of plant protein and only 1 g of sugar. Plus it promotes energy, bloat-relief, and glowing skin. The beauty and detox waters and daily probiotic are also definitely must, but you can easily reorder them for another detox. You can likely skip the bars and save, unless you are a big snacker! Or if you’d rather really experience the Sakara lifestyle, I say go for the full meal delivery program.
Life After the 10-Day Reset
The 10-day reset helped me revisit some of the habits that I realized were becoming vices- I was relying way too much on my morning coffee to rev up and my nightly wine, to wine down. It helped me reset those habits into ones that are healthier for me. It also helped me to remember to take my probiotic every day, and to make sure I was drinking enough water, something I always struggle with. While this program may still feel like an investment, this program is worth it if you consider it will empower you to develop healthy habits for yourself. I continue to make the recipes time and time again, while I anxiously await the Sakara cookbook releasing in April!
